We are currently in need of Subchapter M Auditors and Inspectors for inland ports.
The minimum standards of our current network of auditors and inspectors are as follows:
- A licensed Navigational Watch Officer (NWO) or Engine Watch Officer (EWO) on a tugboat, towboat or ocean-going ship with at least 3 years sea service as Management Level officer; or
- A naval architect who has at least 5 years’ relevant service including experience in conducting flag state inspections and/or conducted Oil Major vetting inspections and/or conducting structural and safety equipment surveys for any of the IACS members, and/or worked as a naval architect in a shipyard of conducted shipyard repairs; or
- A marine surveyor with at least 5 years’ experience conducting surveys including Safety Construction, Safety Equipment, IOPP and Loadline Surveys as a surveyor for any of the IACS members and/or conducted Oil Major vetting inspections; holding the position of DPA or Assistant DPA for a company with a reputable history of compliance, or experience as a port state inspector from a member of a Memorandum of Understanding on Port State Control, including the U.S. Coast Guard with adequate training, or experience as a Flag state inspector.
